Saturday Work

Busy day today.

We're ready to turn in our first round of paperwork so we needed to go get the all-important notary for our agreement (contract) form. Thankfully the banks are open on Saturdays, so easily said and done.

The rest of the papers due, as I described here, we only need to read, agree and sign. Except the application - which is literally the most detailed application I've ever had to fill out. Even our home loan app wasn't this detailed. We practically have to lay out our monthly budget, all our assets and/or debts, information about hobbies, church, references, our heritage (for example, I'm German and Czech), in addition to listing everything from education to work history - the normal "stuff." So we're almost done with the application.

Another thing we decided on was to go ahead and use KBS Dossiers despite our original reservations about paying for the service. (See blog here) In the end, we just feel like it's better to be safe than sorry and let Kate help us do it right the first time. In the long run (and compared to what our overall costs will be), $400 for her service seems pretty decent. She will make sure that we stay on schedule with the documents that are required for our dossier and will also have better connections with people/agencies to help us get those done and authenticated.
