Doctors and Blood Tests

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. It's safe to say I don't think anyone in that office has ever had to fill out a medical form for someone adopting before. Everyone was curious and also confused as to the random questions that were asked on the papers. Mainly, the form has basic "physical" stats such as weight, height, BMI, any prescriptions currently on and why, etc. Also, we have to be tested for HIV, TB and Hep-B.

So I had a shot for the TB in one forearm and then two vials of blood drawn from the other arm. Now we wait for the tests to come in. I'm pretty sure I'm clear though.

My doctor marveled though at how much testing and interviewing and paperwork adoptive parents have to go through to get a child. She kind of felt the same thing should apply for people having biological children because there are so many crazies out there having babies left and right, when well-deserving people have to go to hell and back just to adopt. Ok, not really "hell and back", but you could line up the ppwk in a row and you'd make it around the world - maybe even twice.

Anyhow, once my testing comes in I'll have a notary out to see my doctor sign the forms and by then, that should be out last bit of ppwk that's needed for Gladney! We're almost there!
