Finally! We've finally compiled the last piece of information that we needed to fill out our application!
Like I mentioned before - the most detailed application you will ever fill out. John will drop off our first round of paperwork at Gladney tomorrow.
Supposedly, they ask that you have the 2nd group of paperwork ready and turned in within a week after the first group. So thankfully, it looks like we're going to have everything immediately ready to turn in, minus my birth certificate copy. I'm still waiting on that in the mail. But once it arrives, we can turn in the second group ahead of schedule and we can also proceed with filing our immigration form.
I was explaining to Amber last night that the way the process works is that the paperwork kind of builds upon itself. Everything we've been gathering for the past 2 weeks is for the Gladney application "only". In addition, several of the same pieces of paperwork will be used for the immigration form. Once Gladney has all the ppwk, then they will schedule our home study. And once our home study is complete, Gladney will send that to immigration and once immigration approves our home study, then we can get finger printed. Once finger printed and approved, then we can finish our dossier and get that sent to Honduras. Long process, but the steps toward everything go in order nicely and each build upon the next.
Lately my prayers have been focused on our paperwork and praying that God will help the process move along swiftly and that we can also be diligent to get on the phone and make the calls that needs to be made - for instance, making our doctor's appointments. John and I both hate going to and dealing with our doctors. But my appointment is scheduled for the end of this month and John has yet to be able to get ahold of his doctor. He's going to try to get in and see his endocrinologist so we're praying that he has an opening at least within this month instead of 2-3 months out.
