Phone Orientation

This morning was our phone orientation with Judy from Gladney. As I think I mentioned before, the phone call was to go over what paperwork we needed to get started with and when to send it and how much money to send with it.

Our first step was to send in a Request for Gladney Application form. (I find it funny that you have to request an application.) I suppose it's a little bit like the information form we filled out after the information session a couple of weeks ago. We had to put down our basic info: address, states of residence, marriages, divorces, contact info and whatnot. We're in an opportune spot though because John works just 5-10 minutes from the Gladney Center here in town so he was able to drop it off on his lunch break.

So this form, the request for an application, we were told would take maybe 3-5 business days for this lady, Marsha, at Gladney to go through, accept and then send us the application. Not so for us! Literally 3-4 hours later, as I was back at work, we got a call from Beth who will be our case worker. She was preparing to send us more paperwork regarding the financial side of adoption from Honduras and she was ready to go over this with us as well. I check my email and Marsha has already sent us the application!

It may be too early to be saying this, but I really believe that God is opening doors for us and this process and that we're only going to be seeing more of it.

Did I mention that we will be the first couple to adopt from Honduras through Gladney? We're the 'pioneers' so they say and have been told multiple times already that because it's so new that nothing, including time line, is guaranteed.

I'm telling you right now - I'm very prepared to be thanking God once we're through to the other side.
